Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 29, 2026

1. Overview

Fibi Inc. ("Fibi," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at fibi.live (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Fibi is a telecom advisory and brokerage service. Our business model is to help businesses find the right internet, voice, and connectivity solutions at no cost to them — we are compensated by carriers after a successful placement.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly when submitting a quote request or contacting us:

  • Full name
  • Business phone number
  • Business email address
  • Business address (used to check carrier availability at your location)
  • Any additional information you include in messages to us

Information collected automatically when you visit the Site:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device type
  • Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL
  • Interactions with site features (forms, chat widget, availability checker)

Address data transmitted to third-party government APIs when you use the broadband availability checker:

  • Your business address is sent server-side to the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoding API (geocoding.geo.census.gov) to identify the census block at your location. No personal information beyond the address string is transmitted.
  • The resulting census block identifier (GEOID) is then sent to the FCC Open Data API (opendata.fcc.gov) to retrieve a list of broadband providers serving that area. No personal information is transmitted in this step.
  • Neither API receives your name, email, phone number, or IP address. Both APIs are operated by U.S. government agencies and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Address lookups are cached on our servers for up to 24 hours to reduce repeat API calls. Cached data contains only the address string and the resulting provider list — no personal identifiers.

We collect automatic information through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your quote request and provide telecom advisory services
  • Research and present carrier options available at your business address
  • Contact you by phone or email to discuss your needs and deliver results
  • Follow up after initial contact to support your decision process
  • Analyze site usage to improve content and user experience (analytics)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information to serve you third-party advertising, build advertising profiles, or sell your data to data brokers.

3a. Broadband Availability Lookup — Third-Party API Disclosures

When you use the broadband availability checker on our Site (available on the home page, /providers listing, and individual carrier pages), your browser triggers a server-side lookup on our infrastructure. We make the following outbound API calls on your behalf:

U.S. Census Bureau Geocoding API

Address: geocoding.geo.census.gov — We transmit the address string you entered to geocode it to a U.S. Census Block GEOID (a geographic identifier). The Census Bureau API is a free public government service. No personal information beyond the address is sent. The Census Bureau's privacy policy is available at census.gov/about/policies/privacy.html.

FCC Open Data API (Socrata)

Address: opendata.fcc.gov — We transmit the census block GEOID (a geographic code, not a personal identifier) to retrieve the list of broadband providers that have reported service in that area under the FCC Form 477 dataset. No address, name, email, or IP address is sent to this API. The FCC's privacy policy is available at fcc.gov/consumers/guides/fccs-privacy-policy.

Smarty (SmartyStreets) — Address Autocomplete

Address: us-autocomplete-pro.api.smarty.com — As you type an address into the availability checker or quote form, partial address strings are sent to Smarty to provide autocomplete suggestions. This is a real-time lookup and the keystrokes are processed by Smarty's servers. Smarty's privacy policy is available at smarty.com/privacy-policy.

These API calls are made server-side from Fibi's infrastructure and do not expose your IP address or browser fingerprint to these third-party services. Results are cached on our servers for up to 24 hours to minimize unnecessary data transmissions.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in these circumstances:

Carrier partners

When you engage us to find a solution, we share your business contact details and address with shortlisted carriers so they can prepare accurate quotes. We share only what is necessary and only with carriers you have approved.

Service providers

We use third-party vendors (e.g., address verification, analytics) who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. They may not use your data for their own purposes.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fibi, our customers, or the public.

Business transfers

If Fibi is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Lead and contact records: retained for up to 3 years from last interaction, or as long as a carrier relationship is active
  • Analytics data: aggregated and anonymized — retained indefinitely
  • Email correspondence: retained for up to 5 years

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access controls limiting who can view lead data, and regular security reviews of our systems.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

California residents (CCPA) have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

EEA/UK residents (GDPR) have additional rights including: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Where we rely on legitimate interests as a legal basis, you may object to processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Site is intended for business use and is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
