CoreSite Services

Colocation, interconnection, Open Cloud Exchange, AWS Direct Connect, AWS Outposts, Google Cloud on-ramp, and industry solutions — across 11 US metro markets.

Colocation — Enterprise Data Center Space

CoreSite provides enterprise-grade colocation across 11 US metro markets — carrier-neutral facilities offering dedicated cage, cabinet, and suite options with redundant power, precision cooling, 24/7 physical security, and remote hands support. CoreSite's facilities are purpose-built for mission-critical workloads requiring SLA-backed uptime, high-density power configurations, and dense carrier and cloud interconnection options.

Interconnection — Cross-Connects & MMRs

CoreSite facilities host dense ecosystems of carriers, network providers, cloud providers, and enterprises — connected through private cross-connects and meet-me rooms (MMRs). Direct interconnection between tenants eliminates public internet hops, reduces latency, and provides predictable performance for inter-business and cloud traffic. CoreSite's carrier-neutral status means customers choose from the full roster of available networks rather than being locked into a single carrier's infrastructure.

Open Cloud Exchange (OCX)

The Open Cloud Exchange is CoreSite's multi-cloud on-ramp platform — a single physical port connection at a CoreSite facility that provides on-demand access to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and other major cloud providers. Rather than negotiating and provisioning separate circuits for each cloud provider, OCX delivers a single-contract, on-demand connection to the full cloud ecosystem accessible at that CoreSite facility. For enterprises running multi-cloud architectures, OCX dramatically reduces complexity and per-connection cost.

AWS Direct Connect at CoreSite

CoreSite facilities host AWS Direct Connect on-ramp infrastructure, enabling private dedicated connectivity between colocated servers and AWS regions — bypassing the public internet entirely. Direct Connect from within a CoreSite facility runs over an in-building cross-connect to the AWS on-ramp, producing low, consistent latency and predictable bandwidth for latency-sensitive workloads dependent on AWS services. Available at multiple CoreSite markets aligned with AWS US regions.

AWS Outposts at CoreSite

AWS Outposts allows businesses to run AWS-managed hardware (EC2, EBS, ECS, RDS, and other AWS services) at a location of their choosing — with Amazon managing the physical racks, software, and connectivity back to the AWS region. Hosting AWS Outposts at CoreSite combines the on-premises AWS experience with enterprise-grade data center infrastructure: redundant power, precision cooling, physical security, and direct access to AWS Direct Connect on-ramp connectivity within the same building.

Google Cloud at CoreSite

CoreSite facilities host Google Cloud Dedicated Interconnect on-ramp infrastructure, enabling private high-bandwidth connectivity between colocated infrastructure and Google Cloud regions. Like AWS Direct Connect, Google Cloud connectivity from within a CoreSite facility runs over an in-building cross-connect — eliminating public internet routing and providing the low latency and consistent performance required for production workloads spanning on-premises and Google Cloud.

Industry Solutions (Financial, Gov, Media)

CoreSite offers industry-specific colocation and interconnection solutions for financial services, public sector and government, and media and entertainment organizations. Financial services customers benefit from proximity to financial exchange ecosystems and low-latency trading infrastructure. Public sector and government customers benefit from FedRAMP-aligned facilities and US-based infrastructure. Media and entertainment customers benefit from high-bandwidth interconnection for content delivery, production, and distribution workflows.

Ideal For

Who CoreSite Serves Best

Enterprises Exiting On-Premises Data Centers

Organizations consolidating or eliminating private data centers in favor of colocation — gaining enterprise-grade power, cooling, and physical security without maintaining owned facility infrastructure. CoreSite's 11-market footprint provides geographic options near existing corporate offices or cloud regions.

Cloud-Adjacent Workloads (Hybrid Cloud)

Businesses running hybrid cloud architectures where performance-sensitive or compliance-sensitive workloads live on dedicated hardware at a colocation facility, with direct private connectivity to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for workloads running in the cloud. CoreSite's OCX and direct cloud on-ramps are purpose-built for this architecture.

Financial Services & Regulated Industries

Financial services firms, insurers, and regulated enterprises requiring dedicated hardware, low-latency exchange connectivity, and facilities aligned with industry compliance requirements. CoreSite's financial services solutions and proximity to major financial ecosystems make it a frequent choice for trading, risk, and compliance workloads.

Media & High-Bandwidth Businesses

Media, entertainment, and content-intensive businesses requiring high-bandwidth interconnection for production, rendering, and distribution workflows. CoreSite's dense interconnection ecosystems and direct CDN and carrier connectivity support the bandwidth requirements of media workloads that would be cost-prohibitive over public cloud egress alone.

Why CoreSite

Key Strengths

What sets CoreSite apart from other colocation and interconnection providers.

11 US Metro Markets (Coast to Coast)

CoreSite operates across 11 major US metros — Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Northern Virginia, Silicon Valley, Denver, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, and Washington DC. This footprint covers the primary US financial, government, technology, and media hubs, giving enterprises options to colocate in the same metro as their primary cloud region, reduce cross-country transport costs, and maintain geographic redundancy across multiple CoreSite markets.

Open Cloud Exchange — One Port to Many Clouds

The Open Cloud Exchange (OCX) is one of CoreSite's most distinctive capabilities — a single physical connection that provides on-demand access to multiple cloud providers without separate circuits or contracts for each. For enterprises running AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud simultaneously, or planning to add cloud providers over time, OCX eliminates the per-provider provisioning burden and reduces the total cost of multi-cloud connectivity.

Dense Carrier-Neutral Interconnection

CoreSite facilities are carrier-neutral, meaning tenants choose from the full ecosystem of carriers, ISPs, CDN providers, and network peers present at each facility — rather than being locked into a facility operator's preferred carrier. Dense interconnection ecosystems at CoreSite markets include major Tier 1 carriers, regional providers, and direct cloud on-ramps, giving colocated businesses maximum flexibility in designing redundant, cost-effective network architectures.

Industry Specializations (Finance, Public Sector, Media)

CoreSite has purpose-built solutions for financial services, public sector, and media and entertainment verticals — industries with distinct infrastructure, compliance, and performance requirements. Financial services customers benefit from proximity to exchange ecosystems and low-latency trading infrastructure. Public sector customers benefit from US-based facilities aligned with federal compliance requirements. Media customers benefit from high-bandwidth interconnection ecosystems for content production and distribution.

American Tower Network Scale

CoreSite is part of American Tower, one of the largest global infrastructure companies — providing organizational scale, capital investment capacity, and long-term stability that independent colocation operators cannot match. American Tower's ownership reinforces CoreSite's ability to invest in facility expansion, power infrastructure upgrades, and new market development across its 11-metro US footprint.
